'A Very Taieri Christmas' 2025 is an annual celebration designed to bring together local families, businesses and community groups for the festive season.
Taieri Network plays a central role with coordinating event logistics, seek funding (grants) and services or goods in kind, engaging local retailers and charities, managing volunteer contributions, encouraging local homes to take part in the Christmas lights competition, and promoting the event to the wider Dunedin community. We ensure the event is inclusive, community driven and helps supports local businesses and organisations across the Taieri area.

Community Christmas Tree - Tues 2nd December
We are grateful for the volunteers and businesses that contribute to making this process run smoothly.
🎄Fairfield Transport moves the shipping container into place
🎄Mosgiel Volunteer Fire Brigade are taking on the task of putting up the tree and taking it down
🎄 ProPower wire up the lights bringing the tree to life
🎄 Chevron Traffic Services - traffic management
🎄 Mosgiel Rotary Club - they have been doing some much needed maintenance of the tree (more to do next year!)
Community Christmas Lights Display Competition
Are you decorating for Christmas?
Enter here before the 12th December.
Add your home to the map and be in to win: 1st prize - $500 cash, runner up - $100, thanks to Shoz Wheeler, Property Brokers.

The best two houses will be chosen by the 17th December, then uploaded onto Facebook for the community to vote!
A Very Taieri Xmas Evening: Friday 5th December 2025, 5pm - 9pm
Join us for a festive evening in Gordon Road, Mosgiel!
Get into the holiday spirit as local retailers stay open late, offering incredible in-store specials.
To make the night even merrier, we’ll have:
Live Entertainment showcasing local talent
Food Trucks & Stalls with delicious treats
Face Painting
Santa's Grotto – bring the kids for a free Christmas photo with Santa!

Join us in Anzac Park, Gordon Road, Mosgiel; an evening full of music, festive fun and community spirit! There are great in-store specials in Mosgiel shops.

Santa's Grotto - get your free family Santa photos taken at Taieri Network, 176 Gordon Rd, Mosgiel from 5pm - 9pm, Friday 5th December, 2025.
The photos will then be uploaded to A Very Taieri Christmas Facebook page so you can download them for free to give to family and friends.
Christmas Light Displays Heritage Bus Tours
Step back in time as you travel the streets of Mosgiel viewing the Christmas Lights in an Otago Heritage Bus.
Bus Tour Dates (9pm - 10.15pm): click on the date below to order and pay for your tickets below...
Tickets are $8.10 per person (under 5yrs* are free), so click on the date for the link to order your tickets. Leaving promptly at 9pm from the Mosgiel Scout Hall (beside the Taieri Rugby Club), 33 Reid Ave, Mosgiel unless otherwise specified.
*Under 5yrs: if you require a seat for your little person contact Jean at hello@taierinetwork.co.nz.
Provide your name and email address and we will issue a complimentary ticket to ensure your child gets a seat
